GVB e-tickets must be activated in the app to be able to scan the QR code. Scanning the QR code wil open the gates to a subway station for example. You can activate your ticket by tapping the "activate" button in your dashboard or going to "Tickets & Reservations" and tapping the "activate" button there.
GVB 1-hour ticket
- The 1 hour e-ticket is only valid during the time and/or date stated on the ticket. The GVB e-ticket is valid for a maximum of 60 minutes. You can switch services or lines during that time.
- The GVB e-ticket is valid in buses, trams, ferries and subways of GVB with the exception of the GVB night bus.
GVB Day ticket
- The GVB Day ticket is valid for 24-hours (all day and all night) once activated and can be used with all GVB trams, (night) buses and metros in Amsterdam, Diemen, Duivendrecht, Amstelveen, Schiphol and Weesp.
When you misuse a ticket, you risk getting a fine.
